PSG set a high price for Bradley Barcola as Liverpool and Arsenal show interest

Liverpool and Arsenal know they’ll need to spend a lot if they want to sign Bradley Barcola in the summer transfer window.

The 23-year-old is reportedly unhappy with his smaller role at Paris Saint-Germain and worries he might get even less playing time after PSG became favorites to sign Yan Diomande from RB Leipzig.

Barcola doesn’t seem keen on signing a new deal with PSG and might leave this summer if he’s not promised regular starts next season.

Since joining PSG from Lyon in 2023, Barcola has won two Champions League trophies and three Ligue 1 titles. Still, he was left on the bench during the recent Champions League final win against Arsenal, which is believed to be the main reason he’s thinking about his future.

Both Liverpool and Arsenal want new forwards and would be good fits for the French player, but his high price tag makes a move seem unlikely right now.

PSG aren’t in a rush to sell Barcola and don’t need the money urgently, even though he hasn’t signed a new contract yet. He still has two years left on his current deal, and PSG are focused on negotiating an improved contract with him.

The Athletic reports that PSG want at least £116 million for him, using the proposed move of Elliot Anderson to Manchester City as a comparison, since they think Barcola is an even better option.

Also, PSG don’t feel pressured to sell after AC Milan paid a club-record fee for striker Goncalo Ramos, about £64 million. If they need more money, PSG might let Lee Kang-in and Randal Kolo Muani leave this summer.

Arsenal want a new left winger to build on their Premier League win, while Liverpool need a forward after Mohamed Salah left. Manchester United were also linked to Barcola but are focusing more on strengthening their midfield.

Last season, Barcola scored 13 goals and made seven assists for PSG. He’s also part of France’s squad for the World Cup and scored a goal in their 3-1 win over Senegal in the group stage two weeks ago.
