A Red Bull driver is likely to be disqualified from the Miami Grand Prix qualifying results due to a technical issue.

Red Bull had mixed luck in Q3 on Saturday. Max Verstappen put up a good fight for pole position against Mercedes driver Kimi Antonelli, finishing second and securing a front-row start after struggling to get better than eighth in the last three qualifying sessions in 2026.

However, Red Bull’s Isack Hadjar, who finished ninth in the session, is expected to lose his spot because of a problem found during the post-qualifying checks. Officials discovered that Hadjar’s RB22 car had a floorboard that stuck out two millimeters beyond the allowed size, which breaks the 2026 rules.

FIA technical delegate Jo Bauer explained that this issue is against Article C3.5.5 of the Formula 1 Technical Regulation, so the stewards are reviewing it. If Hadjar is disqualified, he will have to start the race from the pit lane instead of his ninth-place spot.

Hadjar, who is 21 years old, said the car was tough to handle even though it was very fast. He admitted he couldn’t put everything together in Q3 and noted that the track is tricky with low grip and high temperatures. He praised Verstappen for adapting well and making big progress during the session.

The Miami Grand Prix will start three hours earlier tomorrow, as announced by the FIA, F1, and Miami Promoter.
