Barcelona veteran Robert Lewandowski might be heading to a new club in a different league once his contract ends this summer.

Lewandowski, 37, is known as one of the best players of the last 20 years. He has scored an amazing 628 goals in 867 games for teams like Delta Warszawa, Znicz Pruszków, Lech Poznań, Borussia Dortmund, Bayern Munich, and Barcelona.

The Polish star, who has also scored 89 goals in 165 games for his country, will see his Barcelona contract end after this season. That means he’ll leave the club as a three-time La Liga champion.

Even though he’s getting older, it looks like Lewandowski is ready for a new challenge. According to Polish news SportoweFakty, he has a strong offer from Saudi Pro League club Al-Hilal and is close to agreeing to it.

The Saudi club reportedly offered him €90 million (£77.4 million) per season, about £1.48 million a week. This would make him the third-highest-paid player in the league, behind Cristiano Ronaldo at Al Nassr and Karim Benzema at Al-Hilal.

If Lewandowski joins Al-Hilal, he’ll play alongside stars like Benzema, Ruben Neves, Darwin Núñez, and Theo Hernández.

Earlier this May, when there were also talks about him possibly moving to MLS, he told Spanish outlet SPORT: “There might be an option to go to a less competitive league. I’m almost 38, but I feel good physically, so I’m thinking about it. Maybe it’s time to play more freely and enjoy life. That option might come up, and I’m not ruling it out.

“What will I do this autumn? I don’t know yet. I just found out I have 51 days left on my contract, so there’s still time. I’ll listen to a few more offers before deciding.”
