Tennis team overheard talking about Carol Vorderman’s ‘open relationship with six guys’ on open mic

The Porsche Tennis Grand Prix in Stuttgart is in full swing, featuring some of the biggest names in women’s tennis at Europe’s oldest professional indoor tournament. Among the favorites to win the Boss Open is former world number one Iga Swiatek, who’s playing for the first time with her new coach Francisco Roig, known for working with Rafael Nadal and Emma Raducanu.

Fans have been excited to see how Swiatek’s game has changed with her new coach, tuning in to watch her practice before matches. But recently, viewers got a surprise—not from tennis, but from a strange conversation on the broadcast. Two men overheard on the mic started chatting about Carol Vorderman’s “open relationship” with multiple men.

Carol Vorderman, 65, has openly talked about having close friendships with several men over the years. She once mentioned dating five men at the same time in a no-strings-attached way after splitting up with her ex in 2006. Still, hearing this personal chat during a live tennis practice was definitely unexpected.

One production staff member, not realizing his microphone was on, said, “I saw something recently, Carol Vorderman has just come out and said… She’s done it right because she’s had some work done.” When asked to explain, he added, “She’s said she’s in an open relationship with five or six guys.” The other man replied, “With five or six guys? Good girl. Wow.”

The Porsche Tennis Grand Prix coverage is handled by WTA Media, and the tournament’s website streams all practice courts to get fans more involved. So far, WTA Media hasn’t commented on this odd moment, and the men involved haven’t come forward. According to Wales Online, none of the men on the mic work directly for the Women’s Tennis Association, and they are reportedly very embarrassed by what happened.
