Tottenham hopes to swoop in on Aston Villa’s transfer deal in the last days of the window after a tough 3-0 loss to Brentford.

Tottenham are in direct talks with Chelsea about possibly signing striker Nicolas Jackson, but they might have to compete with Aston Villa to get him. It looks like a busy week is ahead for Spurs as the summer transfer window is closing soon, especially after their tough 3-0 loss to Brentford on Saturday, which could speed up their need for new attacking players.
Reports say Tottenham are planning to spend around £140 million to bring in Omar Marmoush and Savinho from Manchester City. They have agreed to pay £85 million for Savinho, with £75 million upfront and £10 million in bonuses, while Marmoush could cost about £55 million. Adding these two could bring Tottenham’s total spending to about £350 million, but that amount might go even higher if they manage to sign Jackson before Tuesday’s deadline.
According to Football FanCast, Spurs are in direct contact with Chelsea to figure out the details of a deal. Chelsea, on the other hand, value Jackson at £65 million. Aston Villa is also interested in Jackson, who scored 11 goals while on loan at Bayern Munich last season. Villa might step in if they sell Ollie Watkins to Saudi club Al Hilal, as reported by Sky Sports.
Jackson played under Unai Emery at Villarreal before joining Chelsea in the summer of 2023 for around £32 million. Atletico Madrid has shown interest in taking Jackson on a season-long loan, but Chelsea prefers to sell him permanently for £65 million.
Before their game against Brentford, Tottenham have reportedly put Pape Matar Sarr on the transfer list, according to Sacha Tavolieri. Last season, the 23-year-old Senegalese midfielder made 26 league appearances but only started 13 games during a challenging campaign. Turkish club Galatasaray is in talks to sign Sarr as they aim to compete with rivals like Fenerbahce, Besiktas, and Trabzonspor, who have been very active this summer.
