When will The United Strand get a haircut after watching 100 Man Utd games?

The United Strand’s wild hair challenge has now lasted for 100 matchdays—but could the time for a haircut be coming soon?

Frank Ilett last cut his hair in October 2024 and promised not to trim it until his beloved Manchester United won five games in a row.

After 744 days, his hair has grown ridiculously long, with United still unable to string together those five wins.

The challenge has blown up on social media, with Frank sharing updates while players and managers keep talking about it. Plus, it’s raised a lot of money for charity!

Wayne Rooney isn’t a fan of Frank’s growing hair, and even Manchester City striker Erling Haaland has told him to get a haircut.

Back in February, it looked like Frank might finally get a trim when United won four matches straight under Michael Carrick.

But nearly 300,000 fans watched as the streak ended with a 1-1 draw against West Ham.

United still haven’t managed five wins in a row, but after hitting this milestone, maybe it’s about to change?

SPORTbible has checked out United’s upcoming fixtures and found a chance for that five-win streak.

Although United aren’t doing great right now and have some tough matches ahead, their game against Brentford on November 28 could be the spark they need.

Brentford are sixth in the Premier League and tough to beat, but they haven’t won at Old Trafford since 1937. That feels like a match United should win.

Michael Carrick’s first loss as interim boss was against Newcastle in March, with William Osula scoring an amazing late winner.

Newcastle looked promising early on this season under Matthias Jassle but are struggling now. United should have a good shot at winning when they meet on December 2.

A few days later, United host newly-promoted Coventry City—a game that looks like a solid chance for a win. The two teams haven’t played in the Premier League since 2001, but on paper, United should take it.

United are back in the Champions League too, with one win and one loss so far. Their next game is in Italy against Como, followed by a home match on December 7 against RB Leipzig.

Leipzig play a high-press style which might leave spaces for United to counterattack and pick up a win at home.

Could December 13 be the day Frank finally gets that haircut? United visit Crystal Palace for a 7pm kickoff, possibly aiming for that fifth straight win.

The Eagles haven’t been great under new manager Piere Sage since Oliver Glasner left for Nottingham Forest—and Sage might not even be there by then.

This seems like a realistic window for United to finally win five games in a row and bring The United Strand to an end once and for all!
