Xabi Alonso faces a tough problem as his club turns down three Chelsea offers for the top ‘Enzo Fernandez replacement.’

Chelsea have reportedly had three separate offers turned down for a Premier League midfielder who could step in if Enzo Fernandez moves to Manchester City. Fernandez has been linked with a big move this summer, with Chelsea asking for £120 million for the Argentine.

Right now, Fernandez is still a Chelsea player as they get ready to play Fulham on Monday (August 24). Some players have already left the club, including Trevoh Chalobah who joined Como in Serie A, Marc Cucurella who signed for Real Madrid, and Tyrique George, who moved to Everton after a loan there last season. Others like Richard Olise, Jimmy-Jay Morgan, Frankie Runham, Sam Rak-Sakyi, Andrey Santos, Jimi Tauriainen, and Joseph Wheeler-Henry have also moved on.

Chelsea’s new boss, Xabi Alonso, has been busy bringing in new players too. Valentin Barco, Pep Chavarria, Jordan Henderson, Maxence Lacroix, Marco Palestra, Danny Welbeck, Morgan Rogers, Destan Satpayev, and Geovany Quenda have all joined the squad.

At the same time, Chelsea are chasing Bournemouth midfielder Alex Scott. The i Paper says Chelsea have had three bids between £62 million and £68 million rejected. Bournemouth want to keep Scott, especially as they prepare for their first Europa League season. Scott’s agents stopped contract talks in July because of transfer interest, but Bournemouth have clearly told everyone Scott is not for sale. Scott’s contract runs until 2028.

Manchester City are also interested in Scott as they look to add more midfielders. They’ve already sold Rodri to Barcelona, are linked with Nico Gonzalez, and have signed Elliot Anderson and agreed on a big deal for Lille’s Ayyoub Bouaddi.

Chelsea have made it clear they won’t sell Fernandez unless they find a good replacement. Before their Premier League opener, Alonso spoke about Fernandez and how happy he is with the team’s signings this summer. He said the club has made smart choices and built a strong team with a good mix of experience and talent.

About Fernandez, Alonso said, “Enzo is a Chelsea player. He’s a top player, training well and fitting in nicely with the team. We’re happy with him, and he’s preparing for Monday’s game. He has a great attitude, and everyone is working hard to get ready for the new season.”
