Top FPL player in the country discovers a wild trick that’s really working!

Fantasy Premier League (FPL) is all about daring choices, and some managers have found success by following their own quirky rules.
Take Everton fan Ben Crabtree, for example. In the 2016/17 season, he won the FPL title by beating 4.5 million players—all without picking a single Liverpool player! That was impressive, especially since stars like Sadio Mane and Philippe Coutinho were racking up big points that year. Instead, Ben focused on lesser-known players and smart alternatives to the big names.

Right now, Scotland’s top FPL manager, Davie Burt, is proving that sticking to a strict rule can really pay off. For the first six gameweeks, his team, ‘Deacon Blue,’ has only picked players from teams that wear blue kits—like Manchester City, Brighton, Everton, Chelsea, Ipswich Town, and Coventry City. That might seem like a big limit, but he’s made it work brilliantly, scoring 521 points and topping Scotland’s league.

In gameweek six alone, Davie hit an amazing 99 points! His stars included Maxim De Cuyper with 15 points, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall with 13, Joao Pedro with 12, and his captain, Erling Haaland, also with 12. He also used his bench boost chip, but that gave him only a few extra points, so it didn’t help as much as he hoped.

Here’s his full lineup from that week:
– GK: Bart Verbruggen (9)
– DEF: James Tarkowski (3), De Cuyper (15), Josko Gvardiol (4)
– MID: Pascal Gross (6), Dewsbury-Hall (13), Morgan Rogers (9), Cole Palmer (8)
– FWD: Pedro (12), Emersonn (2), Haaland (12)

What’s impressive is that Davie hasn’t picked from popular teams like Arsenal, Liverpool, or Manchester United, yet he’s 12th in the world and hasn’t scored less than 63 points in any gameweek so far.

He began the season with a popular triple-up on Chelsea players Palmer, Rogers, and Pedro, who helped him earn 117 points. That was highlighted by a great 5-1 win over Bournemouth, where Pedro scored twice. Plus, his decision to bring in De Cuyper before Brighton’s game against Leeds was clever—De Cuyper is now one of the top scorers, alongside teammate Pascal Gross, who Davie has had since week one. Tarkowski, too, has been a strong pick, racking up 46 points and helping Everton keep three clean sheets.

Davie still has his free hit and wildcard chips left, and only used his triple captain and bench boost so far. If he keeps playing this well, he might just pull off one of the most amazing achievements in FPL history.
