Liverpool fans believe Virgil van Dijk might have accidentally revealed that two more players are leaving this summer.

Liverpool sit in a Champions League spot with just one Premier League game left in the 2025-26 season, but their place isn’t 100% secure yet. It’s been a tough season for the Reds, who are just about holding onto the minimum after winning the Premier League last year under manager Arne Slot.

Even after spending big in last summer’s transfer window, some changes to the squad are likely. Mohamed Salah will be leaving after the final match, ending nine great years at Anfield. Left-back Andy Robertson is also confirmed to be moving on. Meanwhile, a recent social media post from captain Virgil van Dijk has got people talking about two more possible departures.

Van Dijk wrote, “Thankful and grateful for our journey together! One more to go and a send-off you deserve,” alongside a photo showing him with Salah, Robertson, and two other Liverpool stars – Joe Gomez and goalie Alisson. This sparked rumors that Gomez and Alisson might be leaving too.

Fans quickly reacted with messages like, “Why are Joe and Ali there?” and “Does this mean Gomez and Alisson are leaving too?” Both players have had big success at Liverpool, winning the Champions League, FA Cup, Carabao Cup, and Premier League twice. They’re also out of contract next summer, so this transfer window might be the club’s last chance to get a fee for them. With the need to rebuild after a tough season, letting them go might make sense.

On the league front, Liverpool are the only team in the Champions League race that can’t rely on Aston Villa winning the Europa League. Liverpool sit fifth and could move up if they beat Villa on the final day by a three-point difference. If Villa finishes fourth, then Liverpool must stay fifth to qualify. There’s also a chance Bournemouth could catch them, but that would require a big swing in goal difference.
