Tyson Fury is getting ready to join Zlatan Ibrahimovic in buying an English football club.

Tyson Fury is excited about teaming up with Zlatan Ibrahimovic to try to buy an English football club.

After being ‘retired’ for 16 months, Fury made a comeback in the boxing ring on April 11 in London, beating Arslanbek Makhmudov by unanimous decision. Since then, fans have been guessing who he’ll fight next, with a big British showdown against Anthony Joshua expected later this year.

But this week, Fury surprised everyone by posting a photo of himself facing off with Zlatan Ibrahimovic, the former Manchester United striker. He said they’re set to meet in the ring on August 1 in Dublin. Of course, people don’t really think Fury and Zlatan will box, but it shows they’re cooking up some exciting plans together.

In fact, reports say Fury wants to buy his local club, Morecambe FC, along with Zlatan. The pair even want to make a Netflix documentary about the club, similar to Ryan Reynolds’ project with Wrexham.

According to The Sun, they met in Poland recently while filming a World Cup ad and talked about buying Morecambe. A source said, “They want to buy the club and make a Netflix documentary called Rise of Morecambe. Tyson and Zlatan have been good friends for years. Zlatan used to work out with Tyson when he played for United.”

Morecambe’s future has been shaky — they almost folded last year before being saved by a group called Panjab Warriors. But after two tough seasons and relegation, fans are worried again.

Like Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney, who turned Wrexham around and took them up to the Championship, Fury and Zlatan believe they can save Morecambe and bring the team back up.

Fury, 37, hopes to use his Netflix connections from his show ‘At Home with the Furys’ to create a similar hit documentary, inspired by ‘Welcome to Wrexham’ on Disney+.

This plan fits perfectly for Fury, since he already has strong ties to Morecambe — his main training gym is inside the club’s stadium. In 2020, he bought a two-story building at Mazuma Stadium, which also serves as the base for the Tyson Fury Foundation.
