Tyson Fury’s next fight is set, with a cool new venue and a special ticket rule announced!
Tyson Fury’s return to boxing has been officially announced, ahead of the much-talked-about fight with Anthony Joshua.
After being retired for 16 months, Fury returned as expected for a match against Arslanbek Makhmudov in London on April 11. He won the fight by unanimous decision, which immediately got people wondering when he’d fight next and who it would be against.
Rumors have been flying about a big British showdown with Anthony Joshua, possibly happening later this year. But first, Fury will have a warm-up fight against Polish heavyweight Mariusz Wach. This bout will take place at the Max Muay Thai Stadium in Pattaya, Thailand, where Fury often trains. The fight is scheduled for July 24, just over three weeks away, and the undercard details should be released soon.
After the announcement, Fury said, “2026 is a special year for me in boxing, and I’m happy to bring this event to Pattaya, a place that means a lot to me.”
In a historic move, all ticket profits from the event will go to local charities in Pattaya, helping the community benefit from the fight night. The WBC will be at the event too, presenting Fury with the first-ever WBC Humanitarian Title for his generosity.
Fury added, “We’re putting on a great show for the fans while giving back to the community that has always supported me. At the same time, I’m focused on training hard and being the best version of myself for fight night. This is the start of an exciting second half of the year for me.”
Wach, 46, has fought 51 times as a pro, winning 39 (20 by knockout) but losing 19. Recently, he’s won only three of his last 10 fights. His last match was a decision loss to Ukraine’s Viktor Vykhryst. He also lost three fights to British heavyweights, including a second-round stoppage by Moses Itauma in July 2024 for the WBO Intercontinental heavyweight title. Before that, he lost to Frazer Clarke in 2023 and Dillian Whyte four years ago.
