Alex Eala creates a big jump in US Open ticket prices even before her first match!
Excitement is buzzing around Filipina tennis star Alex Eala as she gets ready for her first-round match against Mary Stoiana at the 2026 US Open.
Alex’s journey this year has been amazing. She caught a lot of attention after winning her first singles title last month at the Washington Open. She kept up the great form in the big WTA 1000 events in Canada and Cincinnati, boosting her world ranking to a career-best No. 18 just before the US Open.
With her rising fame, she has also signed several new sponsorship deals, quickly becoming one of the most talked-about players in women’s tennis. Now, she has a real shot at winning her first Grand Slam, and fans are eager to watch her play. Because of this, ticket prices for her matches at the US Open have soared.
Keith Slusser, who tracks ticket prices, shared that the cost to see Alex’s match at Louis Armstrong Stadium nearly doubled from under $200 to almost $400 after her schedule was announced. This jump was much higher than for any other session at the tournament, showing just how popular she has become.
Alex will play at Louis Armstrong Stadium, one of the main courts with a 14,000-seat capacity. US Open tournament director Eric Butorac explained why they chose such a big court for her match. Speaking with Tennis Channel, he said they knew Alex deserved to play on a major stadium because of the growing fan excitement.
He added, “We saw how electric the crowd was when she played at Arthur Ashe Stadium in the Stars of the Open event. She’s so friendly and open with everyone behind the scenes—always wanting to meet and connect with people. I hope she keeps that special spirit.”
Fans are clearly excited to see Alex shine at the US Open!
