Bruno Fernandes didn’t hold back in a surprising interview after Manchester United’s amazing Champions League comeback against Roma.
Despite going 2-0 down in the first 14 minutes, United shocked everyone by coming back to win 3-2 at Old Trafford, ending their winless run.
After the game, captain Fernandes spoke openly about the club’s situation and his connection with head coach Michael Carrick. He was very clear about his feelings.

Fernandes made headlines after United’s last Champions League game when he openly criticized Carrick in a post-match interview. But after this win, he said things are better between them.
When asked if the team saved Carrick’s job with the win, Fernandes replied confidently: “We don’t need to save anyone’s job. The club and the players needed this win. It’s something we all needed as a group.”
He also addressed rumors that Carrick called him in for a chat after dropping him for the Premier League loss to Bournemouth because of his previous comments.
“It has been tough with all the media talk and lies about me and the manager. There was no ‘clear the air’ meeting,” Fernandes said.
“The manager decided to put me on the bench because I wasn’t playing well, and that’s fair. People thought it was punishment for what I said, and if it was, that’s okay. The manager makes the decisions, and I accept it.”
Fernandes made it clear his faith in the manager, staff, and teammates hasn’t changed, and his goal remains to win every game ahead.
After the interview, Amazon Prime presenter Gabby Logan apologized for Fernandes’ strong language.
Up next, United face Aston Villa at Old Trafford on Sunday. A win could help Carrick keep his job and give the team a fresh start for the season.
