Donald Trump shares his thoughts on Bryson DeChambeau’s return to the PGA as LIV Golf faces challenges

The future of LIV Golf is looking uncertain after the Saudi Arabia Public Investment Fund announced they will stop funding the league at the end of this season. Now, LIV Golf is searching for outside investors to keep things going.
This has put the golfers who joined LIV Golf in a tough spot, as they might find it hard to get back on the PGA Tour. Players like Bryson DeChambeau and Jon Rahm might be discouraged by what happened to Brooks Koepka when he tried to return. Koepka, a five-time major winner, had to go through a special program that could cost him up to $90 million in charitable donations and lost bonuses.
Recently, former US President Donald Trump shared his thoughts on LIV Golf and whether the players should come back to the PGA Tour. Trump, a golf fan who owns several courses, said he’d love to see top players like DeChambeau face off against Rory McIlroy.
He said, “I do. In fact, if I had time, I’d love to watch the PGA Tour at Doral, my tournament right now, the Cadillac Championship! In two weeks, LIV will be at my course on the Potomac. I believe all great golfers should play against each other. I want to see Rory playing Bryson DeChambeau! The LIV players are great, and people want to see them compete together — just like at the Masters. The tour wants the best players, but they can’t have the best players if they’re being boycotted.”
Trump added that LIV Golf is playing at his Potomac course soon, and right now, the PGA Tour is at his course at Doral. Whether his comments will influence the PGA Tour isn’t clear yet, but many fans would love to see the best golfers compete against one another again.
Some people think the players who left for LIV Golf should face some punishment, while others just want to see them return. It will be interesting to watch what happens in the next few months and see if golf’s biggest names come back to the PGA Tour.
