John Fury shares details of heated phone call with Eddie Hall that sparked Tommy feud

John Fury has been busy training his son Tommy for an exciting fight against Eddie Hall, happening on June 13 in Manchester. This will be Tommy’s first match since 2023, when he won back-to-back fights against YouTube stars Jake Paul and KSI, keeping his perfect record intact.
Tommy, 26, has won all 11 of his fights, with four of those wins by knockout. He’s aiming to make it five wins in a row later this June when he faces Eddie Hall, who once held the title of World’s Strongest Man. This will only be Hall’s second time in the boxing ring.
Eddie Hall has had just one pro fight before, where he lost to another World’s Strongest Man, Hafpor Julius Bjornsson. The news about this fight surprised many, but John Fury recently shared a phone call he had with Hall that might explain why they’re ready to face off.
Talking to Fred Talks Fighting, John said, “You’ve got to give Eddie Hall credit, because he’s not a fighter and he knows what could happen to him. Tommy and Eddie used to get along well, but I think I messed that up. They were friends, but then Eddie started getting sarcastic. I told him, ‘Don’t insult my son, or I’ll punch you straight in the mouth.’ And then he started bragging about what he could do to Tommy and Tyson. I told him, ‘You can’t do anything, my friend. When you’re talking about world champions in boxing, you don’t stand a chance. No disrespect, but their cardio is nothing.’”
Eddie has been training hard to perform well against Tommy, who is the brother of former heavyweight champ Tyson Fury. Some fans didn’t like how Eddie looked in a recent training video on social media, but it might just be the start of his preparation for an upset.
Eddie told talkSPORT.com, “This fight will be very different from my last one. In the Thor fight, I mostly threw right hands because I couldn’t use my left arm properly. This time, my arm is fixed, so I’ll be fighting orthodox — no southpaw stance. I’ll be more technical, with better defense and more aggression. Overall, I’m much improved. I hope Tommy Fury is the first of the Furys I get to fight if I win.”
