Tottenham aren’t slowing down this summer as they dive into the transfer market with big plans. Last season was tough, with Spurs just barely staying in the Premier League after finishing 17th two years in a row. But now, the club wants to aim higher and compete for a spot in Europe again. They’ve given their coach, Roberto De Zerbi, plenty of funds to spend on new players.

Even though the summer window has only been open for three weeks, Tottenham is about to break their transfer record for the second time in just a few days by signing Sandro Tonali for £100 million. He’ll join other big signings like £85 million midfielder Mateus Fernandez and defender Jan Paul van Hecke, who cost £52 million. Plus, they’ve landed Andy Robertson, Marcos Senesi, and Martin Dubravka on free transfers.

The club’s owners are serious about bringing Tottenham back to the “big six” and don’t seem ready to stop spending. Recently, top agent Jorge Mendes, who helped bring Fernandez to Spurs, has suggested AC Milan winger Rafael Leao as a possible new addition. Leao wants to leave Milan, and he might be available for around €60 million (£51.3 million) or on loan with an obligation to buy, even though his contract has a huge €175 million release clause.

Leao, 27, is shining for Portugal at the World Cup right now and would be a fantastic option on the left wing for De Zerbi. Last season, Spurs didn’t have many great wing players and mainly relied on Mathys Tel. Leao would be a big upgrade, thanks to his speed, skill, and impressive ability to score and create chances.

Spurs have struggled to find players who consistently deliver in attack. Last season, Richarlison was their top scorer in the Premier League with just 11 goals, and their defensive midfielder Joao Palhinha was second with five goals, showing how much room for improvement there is. Leao could change that with his track record – he’s been involved in 145 goals in 291 games for Milan and has scored and assisted at the World Cup.

He’s a real threat on the wing and when cutting inside, with great stats for crosses and big chances created in Serie A last season. Spurs really need someone fast, clever, and calm in front of goal for important games, and Leao fits that role perfectly. If he returns to his best, signing him could really boost Tottenham’s attack and give fans plenty to be excited about.
