Mark Goldbridge leaves Baller League after a strange incident
Mark Goldbridge was really angry and walked off during his team’s latest game in the Baller League.
Back in March, the Baller League announced that Mark, a well-known Manchester United fan, would be joining as a manager for the third season of the six-a-side football competition.
He’s managing Gold Devils FC and will be competing against teams managed by Ian Wright and Chloe Kelly (Wembley Rangers), Gary Lineker, Alan Shearer, Micah Richards (Deportrio), and YouTubers like KSI (Prime FC) and Angry Ginge (Yanited), among others.
On Monday night, Goldbridge’s team played against NDL FC, led by YouTube star Niko Omilana, at London’s Copper Box Arena. The match ended in a 4-2 loss for Gold Devils FC.
But it wasn’t the score that upset Goldbridge—it was a strange moment when one of his players got a red card. When the score was 3-2, the game stopped because they realized Gold Devils had an extra player on the pitch—a seventh player had come on by mistake.
“There’s tactics, Mark Goldbridge, and then there’s that,” joked commentator Brandon Smith.
Because of this, the referee gave a red card to one of Goldbridge’s players, meaning he had to leave the field for two minutes.
Goldbridge was clearly not happy and made that very clear.
“What’s that, a two-minute suspension? See you later, what do you mean?” he shouted from the sidelines.
“Goldbridge is off, he’s not happy,” said co-commentator AngryGinge.
“They sent one of his players off just because they accidentally put a sub on. Goldbridge is not happy. He said, ‘I’m done, I’m not dealing with this,’ and honestly, I don’t blame him. It was just a slight mix-up and now his team is down a player.”
With this result, Gold Devils FC are now eighth out of 12 teams, while NDL FC stays at the top of the league.
