Morocco won 1-0 against Scotland in their Group C World Cup match, making history in the process. Ismael Saibari scored early in the game, netting a goal in just the second minute. Morocco controlled most of the match and held on tightly in the final minutes as Scotland pushed hard to equalize.

Morocco felt confident going into this game because they have a strong record against European teams in World Cup group stages, losing only once in their last six matches—back in 2018 against Portugal.

Now, Morocco will focus on finishing top of the group as they prepare to face Haiti in their last match. They are hopeful to get another win against the Caribbean team.

While winning against Scotland and earning three points is what matters most, this win also gave Morocco a place in history. They are now unbeaten in their last six World Cup group matches, the longest streak for an African team. This beats the old record held by Cameroon and Senegal, who each had five unbeaten group matches.

This win also keeps Morocco’s perfect record against Scotland, though they’ve only met twice before. The first meeting was a 3-0 win for Morocco during the 1998 World Cup.

Scotland will now focus on their last game against Brazil, hoping to advance from the group. Any positive result could help them reach this goal. If coach Clarke leads Scotland to a good result against Brazil, he will become the first manager to take Scotland to the World Cup knockout stages.
