Shakira has finally released her new World Cup song, and fans are saying she’s “saved the tournament!”

Shakira has just dropped ‘Dai Dai’, the official song for the 2026 World Cup, and fans around the world are loving it!
We already adore Shakira thanks to her hit ‘Waka Waka’ for the 2010 World Cup in South Africa. She’s no stranger to football either—she rocked the stage with ‘Hips Don’t Lie’ before the 2006 final and teamed up with FIFA again for ‘La La La’ during the 2014 World Cup.
On May 7th, after 12 years away from the football scene, Shakira shared a teaser of ‘Dai Dai’ on her social media. The clip, filmed at Rio de Janeiro’s Maracana Stadium, showed her dancing with fireworks lighting up the sky and the stadium displaying the message ‘We are ready’.
We didn’t have to wait long—just eight days later, the full song came out. Featuring Burna Boy, it’s 3 minutes and 45 seconds of pure World Cup excitement that’s sure to get you pumped.
This year’s World Cup has been a bit tricky for fans, with games in the US, Canada, and Mexico happening in tough time zones and ticket prices being super high for those hoping to watch in person.
But once people heard ‘Dai Dai’, many forgot those worries and got excited for the biggest football event starting next month.
One fan said, “This is an instant classic, omg!” Another added, “She saved us, this is fire.” Someone else called it a “90+5 banger to save the World Cup,” and a fourth said, “This song is so addictive! The chorus, hook, bridge, and build-up are TOP TIER.”
