Adam Thomas, who won I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!, opened up about the “disturbing” message he got from boxer David Haye after Haye was accused of bullying him.

Thomas, known from Emmerdale and Waterloo Road, won the second season of I’m A Celebrity… South Africa, a special all-stars edition of the popular ITV show with past contestants.

The series had a lot of drama. Thomas had a heated argument with ex-footballer Jimmy Bullard when Bullard refused to take part in a Bushtucker trial they were paired for. The losing team would be sent home, and Bullard gave up right away. Thomas was furious but stayed on the show, which ended with two campmates walking off during the final episode.

At the final, Bullard called Thomas “aggressive, abusive and intimidating,” but co-host Ant McPartlin disagreed with those claims. Haye was very outspoken too and was told to be quiet. Both men seemed to be kicked off the follow-up show ‘Unpacked’ on ITV 2.

Thomas looked worn out when he won. Haye said ITV edited the footage to make Thomas look like “a victim.”

Talking about the drama for the first time on At Home With The Thomas Bro’s, Adam shared that Haye sent him a voice note congratulating him on the win, which Thomas found “disturbing” after everything that happened. Haye also apologized and admitted he had wanted to “break” him.

Adam said, “The most disturbing thing is that David sent me a voice note after the show saying, ‘oh mate, what a great show that was. I’m so happy you won. Congratulations’.” He replied, “I think this is where we draw the line. I hope you find happiness, but I’m done.”

He added, “That live show made me feel exploited, like it wasn’t even about me.”

Haye apparently told him, “You’re the nicest guy I’ve ever met, and I just wanted to break you.” Adam said, “He apologized, and I moved on.”

According to The Sun, Haye plans to sue ITV for £10 million, saying the producers hurt his reputation and made him the “scapegoat.” The paper also says he might lose his fee for the live final due to his behavior and a possible contract breach.

A source told the newspaper that a Netflix series deal is now on hold and some brand deals haven’t happened.

On Instagram, Haye asked his followers if they thought he had bullied Thomas or if it was just “banter.” He said he realized he was in the “massive minority” thinking his behavior was okay. The poll ended with 77% saying yes, he had bullied Thomas, and 23% saying no.
