“I’ve never felt worse,” says Jon Rahm as he apologizes for an “unacceptable” moment at the PGA Championship.

Jon Rahm apologized and said he would do everything he could to make up for his “inexcusable” behavior during the first round of the PGA Championship.

The Spanish golfer had a slow start to this big tournament, but he made a splash with an amazing eagle on the second hole, which was his 11th hole of the day.

It was a busy opening round for Rahm, especially on the seventh hole. Frustrated after a shot went too far, he tried to let off steam with an “air swing,” but accidentally hit a clump of grass that flew into a volunteer’s face.

Fans watched in surprise as it happened, and Rahm quickly went over to apologize, putting a hand on the volunteer’s shoulder and explaining what went wrong.

Later in his press conference, Rahm said, “Thanks for reminding me of that. I got a flyer on my second shot, which wasn’t in a great spot. Out of frustration, I tried an air swing just above the grass, but I hit the ground and accidentally threw a chunk of grass that hit a volunteer in the shoulder and face. I feel terrible about it. That’s why I was there apologizing. I want to find him and give him a gift because that should never have happened.”

Earlier in the day, there was also some talk when Rahm landed a shot in the rough but was allowed to move the ball back to the fairway because a sprinkler was in his way. Some fans disagreed with the ruling, but Rahm ended up scoring a bogey on the hole after a tough next shot.

Despite some frustrating moments, Rahm also had some great highlights. The two-time major champion made an eagle on the second hole and a birdie on the eighth, finishing the day one under par and just two shots behind the early leader.
